ALOHA PRAYER

Aloha has a rainbow of meanings; one of which is Peace.

The Aloha Spirit is the essence of Surfing; that which is the inspiration for all to learn and continue Surfing.

The Aloha Surfer Prayer came to Up 2 Peace as an avenue in which to gather Surfers, Skateboarders, Snowboarders and other expressions of the BoardSports Community to assist in the promotion of Peace and The Declaration of Universal Peace 2..

Up 2 Peace has begun the preliminary ground work in collaboration with the Pleasure Point and Santa Cruz, at large, Surf Community, along with the Santa Cruz Parks system, to place a Memorial Plaque to honor local Surfer Zeuf Hesson–The Girl in the Curl– near the 36th Avenue Surf Spot commonly known as Jacks.  Zeuf was a pure and widely respected Voice of Aloha for the Women Surfers and Youth.  By no niceness excluding the rest of us in the Santa Cruz Surf Community.  She was also a “groundswell” force in the birthing of the organization, Ride a Wave, which takes out physically and emotionally challenged individuals to experience the Healing Power of Surfing and the Ocean.

Up 2 Peace and the Aloha Surfer Prayer is honored to be a part of the bringing forward this long overdue Memorial. We could not imagine a more authentic expression of The Aloha Spirit in action to begin our Journey of sharing with the International Community of Surfing and other BoardSports; the Aloha Surfer Prayer and Peace.

The Memorial for Zuef will be the first of many to follow which Up 2 Peace will see livicated at local Surf spots Internationally.  Among these is a strong emphases on the locations where numerous Surf Camps for Veterans have been organized.  Up 2 Peace is confident that the Local Surf Communities will be stoked to assist in the placement of the Prayer.

The Aloha Surfer Prayer reminds all of the Sacred Roots of Surfing.  A vital thing to do when entering the Ocean or just watching others Surf.

If you have a favorite location which you would like to see the Prayer placed, please let us know and we will do all we can to collaborate in the process to insure it’s happening.

Mahalo,
Perry
